This made me think of freshly cut flowers from my garden, stars overhead, and the delight of finding the first green tomato. Perhaps whimsy is simply the art of noticing the magic that was there all along. X

I love the idea that wonder isn’t an escape from life but a way of returning to it. In a culture that constantly rewards productivity, choosing to notice the dragonfly may be one of the most quietly radical things we can do.

The dragonfly becomes a small hierophanyβ€”a revelation that the sacred was never distant, only unnoticed.

I never knew the 'weird' part of me was called whimsy... sounds way cooler this way.

β€œThese help us shake off the world and return home” sobbing. I have always viewed whimsy as a sacred thing, in the same way that joy is resistance, romanticizing the world around me is also a way through it… and you’re right, the women carry whimsy in an extra special way.

Can’t wait to hear more from El Camino <3

I instantly subscribed because of your β€œname” β€” such a beautiful, ponderous question that keeps us humble (albeit a bit insane at times 😜)
